Tradeoffs happen. They happen whether we are conscious of them or not. We only have so much time. We only have so many resources. We only have so many abilities.

We have one life and an allotment of days. How do we use them? What access do we allow Jesus to have in them? We can put on a good show of outward appearances; Jesus goes right to the heart.

Today's passage Jesus does just that, He goes to the heart where too often we are bound up spiritually; even paralyzed. Jesus today goes after greed. The problem with greed in our culture is that it is not only acceptable it is a normal part of life. Where there is greed there is no transformation. A tradeoff is needed. That what we will see today.
