This sermon focuses on the TBC 2016 Mission Theme: "Making the Most of Every Opportunity" (Everyone being more intentional and fruitful in Evangelism). This year's theme is derived/based off of Ephesians 5:15-16 and Colossians 4:5-6. The overall point of the sermon explains why evangelism begins with prayer (based off a seminary paper Pastor Chad wrote - see/download "notes"). The main points were:
1. Train for it (Colossians 4:2)
2. Pray for it (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
3. Look for it (1 Peter 3:15)
4. Go for it (Colossians 4:3-5)
5. Follow up on it (Colossians 4:6) ("it" being every evangelistic opportunity that God provides)
The conclusion/application of the sermon was urging Truth Bible Church in 2016 to faithful pray what Pastor Chad calls "5 Dangerous Prayers" (dangerous because God will answer them!)
1. Lord give me your heart for the lost.
2. Lord give me opportunities to share the gospel.
3. Lord give me courage to take the opportunities.
4. Lord give me words to say during the opportunity.
5. Lord help me leave the results up to you (only you can save/convert hard hearts, but graciously grant us some fruit that will last - new converts that will cross over from death unto life - John 5:24).
