I'm doing daily Bible verse readings to share, grow, and impact others for good!

Malachi 1:12 (NLT)
'“But you dishonor my name with your actions. By bringing contemptible food, you are saying it’s all right to defile the Lord’s table. '

Most of Malachi 1 is about the Priests bringing unworthy sacrifices to God. And here we come in at Malachi 1:12 - they are bringing unworthy and contemptible items for the Lord. The attitude of the priests in general in this chapter is disrespectful. God would rather see no offering at all than to have a lame or weak one. This is a reminder to always give your best to God. Always give your best in general because that will exalt Him!

We do this from time to time in our daily lives. We only put forth a little effort. Not necessarily what we are fully capable of. God knows. We only do enough to get by, not enough to truly excel. God knows.

When you don’t give your fullest, just like in the verse, you are not just being insulting to those that know you can do better, but you are damaging, in the long run, your reputation.

So always put forth your best effort in everything you to. Know that whatever sacrifice you make in life - it needs to be the good one, we give it all up to God all the time. Every time.
