In this study, Pastor Kevin picks up on the theme of God’s hatred for divorce between a Jewish husband and wife. In applying this teaching to today, God also hates it when those who profess to be Christians divorce each other. Why, because of the violence it creates and how the children are physically and spiritually affected.

Kevin then covers the New Testament parallel passage in 1 Cor 7 dealing with marriage/divorce when one spouse is a Christian and the other is not. Here again, the believer is encouraged to stay in the marriage relationship for the sake of being a witness to the unbelieving spouse and to be able to minister the truth of the gospel to the children.

This shortened service (due to the pastoral ordination of Dustin Cummings during part of the service) concludes with the taking of communion where Kevin encourages families to confess their sins to one another, asking for forgiveness, and then forgiving each other as Jesus has forgiven us.
