Today’s verse is from in Job Chapter 22 and is Job’s response to Eliphaz The Temanite recorded in Chapter 21. In the Old Testament Book of Job (chapters 4, 5, 15, 22), Eliphaz is one of three friends who sought to console Job. His name means, “The endeavor of God”. The word Temanite probably indicates that he was an Edomite, or member of a Palestinian people descended from Esau. The Book of Job is a biblical archetype, or a prime example of unmerited suffering. Does God allow the devil to give us trouble which is without merit? Is our dying without merit?
One day, for all of us, if you don’t know God, the music will stop, His Open Ended Invitation will be over. The Bible says in Hebrews 9:27, “It is appointed for men to die ONCE, but after this the JUDGMENT”. That is the Truth, just as sure as I breath, and all I can say is; I PRAY you have done your best with what God has Entrusted you with.
