Mark 14:66-72
VERSE OF THE DAY: Immediately the rooster crowed a second time. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: "Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times." And he broke down and wept. —Mark 14:72
While Jesus stands before the Council, Peter, just outside the door of the house, denies three times that he even knows Jesus. And he broke down and wept.
REFLECTION: Jesus Knows Our Shame
• WORD - Jesus’ word declared what would happen.
• WARNING - Peter ignored the warning (first rooster).
• WITNESS - The second rooster indicted him.
• WEEPING - Peter responded with shame and sorrow.
• WAY BACK - Jesus Himself forgave and restored Peter (John 21:15-19).
Q's: What is something you have been ashamed of? How long have you been carrying the shame? Give it to Jesus. He already knows.
