Intro - The Smallest …

The Mustard Seed - A Small Seed grows into a Great Tree.

31-Mark.4.32" class="scriptRef">Mark 4:31-32 - 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, 32 yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”

22-Ezek.17.23" class="scriptRef">Ezekiel 17:22-23 - 22 Thus says the Lord God: “I myself will take a sprig from the lofty top of the cedar and will set it out. I will break off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I myself will plant it on a high and lofty mountain. 23 On the mountain height of Israel will I plant it, that it may bear branches and produce fruit and become a noble cedar. And under it will dwell every kind of bird; in the shade of its branches birds of every sort will nest.

What is The Seed? The Gospel Mark is St Peter’s “Gospel."

23-1Pet.1.25" class="scriptRef">I Peter 1:23-25 - 23 since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; 24 for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, 25 but the word of the Lord remains forever. And this word is the good news (The Gospel) that was preached to you.

What is the Gospel?
The Good News of the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Cross of Jesus Christ? A Tree.

I Peter 2:24 - He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

The Tree is the Cross of Jesus Christ where He is making a Substitutionary Sacrifice. His Cross became The Axis Mundi.
