Mark 8:1-21

VERSE OF THE DAY: During those days another large crowd gathered. Since they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way, because some of them have come a long distance.”—Mark 8:1-3

Jesus does yet another amazing miracle, feeding the 4,000 this time, but the Pharisees demanded a sign (as if feeding the 4,000 wasn't enough!). He got back in the boat with His disciples to go back to the other side, and the disciples forgot to bring bread! (They had SO MUCH leftover bread from the miracle, though Jesus' focus was on the leavening, not the leftovers.

REFLECTION: Jesus Cares

In the business of everything that was going on, it was JESUS who took
note of the needs of others. He didn’t delegate His compassion to a team.
HE noticed. HE cared. HE took action.

Q's: What does compassion look like to you? Have you been too busy to see the needs of others? What is something else you can do today to show someone else that you see them and that you care?
