What is at the center, at the very core of your life? That is the question asked by this gospel. That sometimes gets lost when Martha is too easily dismissed as a harried, Martha Stewart wannabe. But her problem is not that she seeks to serve Jesus. It is that she forgets Jesus when she gets angry with Mary. Jesus calls her and us to recenter on "the one thing" that is truly necessary.
