When Mary willingly and courageously submitted to God's plan for her to be the mother of the Messiah, it was a painful burden she agreed to bear. Mary submitted, endured, and remained faithful, trusting God even when nothing made sense.
God invites us to trust Him when things don't make sense. When hurt and heartache threaten to overwhelm us, He asks that we lift our eyes to Him and and fix our eyes on what is unseen.
Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us and eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).
