Ministering: Pastor David Odumade
Title: Mathematics of failure - Part 1: Attitude to Life
Text: 1 Corinthians 9:16-26

Proverbs 18:13
Galatians 6:10

Failure doesn't only come if one has not done what one is meant to do, but one can still fail if time and chance doesn't work in one's favour.

Failure is the state or condition of not meeting a desirable or intended objective.

"An inventor fails 999 times and if he succeeds once, he is in. He treats his failures simply as practice shots." - Charles F. Kettering

"A man may fail many times but he isn't a failure until he begins to blame somebody else." - John Burroughs

"Anyone who has never made a mistake, has never tried anything new." - Albert Einstein

When failure fails, only then will you have success.

Success and Failure have formulas.

Success is the achievement of desired visions and planned goals.

It is one thing to discover something great. It is another thing to manage it. One may be a great engineer, medical doctor or accountant but not be a great manager or resources.

Failing to plan is an equation for failure.

God has a contingency plan for failure - Proverbs 24:16.

Success provides confidence, security, a sense of well being, ability to contribute at a greater level, hope and leadership.

Success doesn't come cheap.

Your attitude to life will determine whether you succeed or fail. Apostle Paul had a good attitude to life. He wanted to win everywhere. He didn't want to win for his own credit, but he wanted to win for Christ.

Everybody can win. Only a thief would want to win and want someone else to lose.

Your attitude will determine your altitude.

Failure is not physical, it is spiritual.

Failure doesn't rent a house and doesn't pay any bills. It has a place it lives for free. It lives in the mind of people.

Some people fail because they don't know what to do in order to succeed.

If you are going into something new, ask for people who have done it before.

Success is not readily available in the physical realm. We have to do everything we need to do spiritually and add our own physical aspects to it and trust God, that He will bring it to pass.

Failure is cheap and easy. It is everywhere. You don't have to struggle in order to fail.

The easiest way to fail is to do nothing.

Some people have very discouraging habits and attitudes to life. They give up too soon on everything.

God knows where He is taking us. There are good and bad attributes in our lives. We need to pray for both types.

What is your attitude to life? Is it winning or giving up?
