Shalom! Our Lord Jesus was a Nazarene and introduced as Jesus of Nazareth. Although this was not a desirable connection, Philip was not ashamed of introducing the Christ to Nathanael (John 1:45 - 46) because he knew Jesus was the Messiah! We are the followers of Christ i.e., Christians. Therefore, we are disciples of Christ (Acts 6:1 - 3 & 11:26).
