In Matthew 5:44 Jesus made what was perhaps His most revolutionary command. In Matthew 5 44 He told His followers that they were to love their enemies. Matthew 5:44 belongs to a passage that begins in verse 43 and ends at 48. Since Matthew had been a tax collector prior to being Christ's disciple and therefore considered an enemy by his countrymen this teaching probably carried extra meaning for Him. What do you think?
