2 Timothy 3:10, "You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance …"

Interesting points:
1. With this verse, Paul transitions from the sinful actions of the Wicked and false teachers to his own example and its influence on Timothy. Seven specific areas in which Timothy has closely observed Paul's teaching are presented in this verse and serve as guideposts for all that follow him in the faith.

2. Since Timothy witnessed Paul’s walk of faith firsthand, he can attest to the veracity of his words. Timothy followed Paul's teachings during and after their ministry together in Acts 16, as well as Paul's writings to him in 1 and 2 Timothy. As Timothy followed Paul's “way of life” or conduct, Paul considered him his "true child in the faith" (1 Timothy 1:2). Similarly, Timothy shared in Paul's "purpose” in spreading the gospel, placing God first and foremost in his life.

3. Timothy also attested to Paul's faith and followed in his footsteps in salvation and ongoing faithfulness as a believer. In addition he had endured alongside Paul with much patience. Having served alongside Paul for many years Timothy also understood and practiced God’s love, which also served as a key theme in Paul's letters to the churches, most prominently in 1 Corinthians 13. Lastly, Timothy served in ministry alongside Paul with endurance, steadfastness and perseverance.

Application.
Brothers, how we walk with Christ not only serves as a testimony to God’s grace, mercy and transformative power, but also points the way and encourages others in their Christian walk. Our spiritual example, mentorship and legacy can develop the Timothy(s) in our lives as well as remind/inspire future generations that God can use anyone that seeks Him with all their heart and steps out in faith to spread the Gospel.

May we strive to serve God and leave a legacy that will be fruitful for whatever generations are yet to come!
