Morning Song: March 30, 2020 - Psalm 69:19-36 and “Praise Him”
Do you know what really pleases God? Do you know what pleases Him even more than offering to Him something that is really precious, valuable or costly?
What gives a special pleasure to God is when we offer Him a "sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving." David speaks of this in Psalm 69. In verses 19-28, he returns to lament and recounting his troubles and then he says:
29 But as for me—poor and in pain— let your salvation protect me, God.
30 I will praise God’s name with song and exalt him with thanksgiving.
31 That will please the Lord more than an ox, more than a bull with horns and hooves.
32 The humble will see it and rejoice. You who seek God, take heart!
God is pleased when we praise and give Him thanks. Especially when we are in a difficult situation. Not only is God pleased...but maybe, just maybe others will 'see it and rejoice.' Others may see God in us and rejoice, when we offer a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving!
