Whoever misleads the upright into an evil way will fall into his own pit, but the blameless will have a goodly inheritance. — Proverbs 28:10

This verse addresses a sensitive subject matter — the intent to mislead people. But not just any people — God's people. The upright.

And I want you to know. I think about this a lot. Every time I write something or make a video that I share with you, I think about it. Because I feel the weight of obligation, I have as a leader to ensure I am always rightly handling the truth. And I should. You want me to feel this weight.

But there are some people out there. Pastors, educators, actors, news personalities, athletes, non-profit leaders, and social media influencers deliberately mislead people. They are instigated by personal agendas and vendettas, so they intentionally plan to deceive people. But what they fail to realize is that the trap they set for the upright is a trap that they set for themselves. And this is not "karma," as some would suggest. It is a truth of scripture. God is always victorious over evil and those who seek to harm his people. And to identify those who maliciously mislead, all you have to do is name people who have fallen into their trap. They are those who have been busted, fired, indicted, and imprisoned. Their churches are closed. Their shows are canceled. Their posts are vacated. Their businesses no longer exist.

But there is another man. A blameless man. He's the one who pursues the truth, is convicted by it, and lives by it all the time. And it's not easy. It is an obligation with some weight. Be that man, for this man will feel the weight of a good inheritance.

ASK THIS: What truth do you need to pursue today?

DO THIS: Act on that truth right now.

PRAY THIS: God, reveal the truth to me. Allow it to convict me. Then give me the courage to act.
