Today we will come to understand the cost of following Christ, deny ourselves and follow Jesus.
Here are a few of the BIBLE TRUTHS we'll see in our lesson today:
■ God the Father revealed to Peter that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matt. 16:16)
■ Jesus rebuked Peter because Peter was not trusting God’s plan.
■ Jesus calls disciples to deny themselves and follow Him.
Our MEMORY VERSE for today is:
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.’” —Matthew 16:24
To apply our lesson today we must:
■ Deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Christ.
■ Be mindful of the things of God.
■ Rejoice in Christ’s return and reward.
