When Lumiere cried out to God for help, His response would not only change her life but an entire nation. This is the story about how one Congolese businesswoman discovered Charis through a vision where today she serves as our AWM Director of the DR Congo. This is the Charis Journey of Lumiere Nsungo.

For decades, Andrew Wommack ministries has been deeply invested in Africa, establishing schools, supporting orphans, drilling wells, and spreading the message of Jesus. The vision now extends to us having a Charis location in every country on the continent: a task only made possible by laborer’s called to the
ministry by God.

One such laborer is Lumiere Nsungu. Despite having worldly success in business, Lumiere faced a broken family and marriage, feeling emptiness within the legalism of her Catholic upbringing. In a moment of desperation, she prayed for understanding, leading to a transformative encounter with God. The word "Charis" appeared, flashing in her room, prompting her to enroll in Charis Bible College. Through her time there, her mind was renewed, and she witnessed the Lord restoring the broken aspects of her life including her marriage: with her husband Aaron enrolling in Charis for himself!

With her life completely transformed, Lumiere desired to find a way to bring this message back to her people in the DR Congo. This solution came from all places in a small office in Nice, France where our Martin Alargent was translating Andrew’s Gospel Truth Program into French. Its release had a profound impact on French-speaking Africa, with thousands of pastors eager for more, seeking grounding in the grace message for effective discipleship. The overwhelming demand in the DR Congo created an opportunity for a new Charis location, and God had already placed the perfect people for the job.

Lumiere Nsungu and her husband, now equipped from Charis Bible College, emerged as the perfect couple to fulfill this role as Charis directors in DR Congo. They now had a way to bring the powerful message that changed Lumiere's life to the people of DR Congo, contributing to the broader mission of Andrew Wommack ministries in Africa.
