In James 1:9-11, we study the eternal mindset that is to characterize believers. James writes to Christians who may be tempted to focus on their earthly circumstances rather than their eternal destination. He reminds them of the brevity of life and the transitory nature of earthly possessions. We would be wise to learn from that as well. Rather than being caught up with money, possessions, fame, or status may we treasure our status through Christ!
