But no matter what kind of pain we're dealing with pain has one job and the job is this: "Something's wrong!" "Please check me out." It's a megaphone as C.S Lewis says in his book 'The Problem with Pain' It's God's megaphone saying "Please investigate a bit further. Something's off. Something's sore. Something's broken. Something was done that shouldn't have been done and you should never have been treated like that or feel like that." That's why there's pain, and if you don't listen to it and attend to the source of the pain it just gets worse. Things go south.
