The principle behind determining what is heresy - when human reasoning thumps divine revelation. Once we determine it as heresy, we are to confront it, and in the end separate from it. Is Pentecostalism and it's step children (ecumenicalism, charismatic renewal, non-cessationism) heresy? When considering their doctrine of salvation, of sanctification, and their method in worship and evangelism, the conclusion is strait warded - heresy.
