Matthew 6:16
16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Our Lord expects us to fast, just as He expects us to pray.
So what do we mean by Fasting? Fasting means going without food or drink or certain pleasures for a Spiritual purpose. It's not just skipping meals but seeking God. And what motivates fasting? I believe real fasting is for ministry. But there are other reasons as well. Fasting strengthens your Prayer Life and your Faith; it Increases your Fervency in Prayer; it Subdues "SELF"; it brings Wisdom; and most importantly It Holds Back the Judgment of God in your life.
