I'm doing daily Bible verse readings to share, grow, and impact others for good!

Proverbs 20:15 (NLT)
"Wise words are more valuable than much gold and many rubies."

The whole book of Proverbs is written based on wisdom from our trust in God. This particular verse is very direct in referring to wisdom. It is one of the most valuable assets we can receive.

I have often said wisdom is applied knowledge. Meaning you may learn something; you may be book smart, but it is the application that gains wisdom. Meaning you have to take action. Once you have learned something and take action towards it you generally have two outcomes, you succeed in achieving what you attempted or you fail at it.

Either way, you gain wisdom from the attempt. So what the verse is telling us is to listen. Listen to those that have come before us, those that have attempted before us. Success (and failure) leaves clues from the people that have learned and then attempted before we have.
