Some went down to the sea in ships,
working away across ocean depths.

God spoke up and the wind arose,
troubled the waters heaven close.

Breathe the sky till we drown below;
souls sink away in peril. Oh!

Cried to the Lord under duress,
"Deliver us in our distress!"

Roar of a storm to a whisper stilled,
quiet the waves that would have killed.

They were glad when the sea went calm.
God, guide us, Lord, to harbor home.

For your love, let us thank you, Lord,
safekeeping grace upon us poured.

Who is this that the wind obeys?
Who dances on the waters' praise?

"Christ, I dare you hear the prayer I sing!"
"Lord, who cares if we are perishing?"

Wind and wave! Jesus call:
"Peace, be still!" Friends, are y'all
still afraid? Is your faith still so small?
