Psalm 2:1-3, 4-7a, 7b-9 ‘Blessed are all who take refuge in the Lord’ is an invitation to humble ourselves, seek refuge in Him and become servants of the Lord. For those who seek Him as their king will lead prosperous and safe lives.
R/- Blessed are all who take refuge in the Lord, our God
O Blessed are all who take refuge in the Lord.
1. Why do the nations rage and the peoples utter folly?
Kings of the earth rise up, and the princes plot together.
Against the Lord and His anointed, saying:
“Let us break their fetters and cast their bonds from us!” BUT
2. The Lord who's throned in heaven laughs and puts them to scorn.
Then in His anger he speaks with wrath striking them with terror,
"I myself have set up my king, on my holy mountain Zion", proclaim the Lord's decree. WE SAY:
3. The Lord said to me, “You're my Son; whom I've begotten.
Ask me and I will give you the nations for your inheritance
Ends of the earth for your possession.
Rule them with an iron rod; shatter them like earthen pots.” SO:
