Psalm 33:4-5, 18-19, 20 & 22, ‘The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord’ begins by describing the nature of God and for which he is praised, and concludes with blessings of the Lord upon those who acknowledge Him to be their God - blessings of care and kindness. It can be sung also on 2nd Sunday of Lent, Year A

R/- The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. (2)

1. Upright is the word of the Lord,
And all His works are trustworthy.
He loves justice and right;
Of the kindness of the Lord the earth is full.

2. The Lord looks on those who revere Him,
Upon those who hope for His kindness,
To rescue their souls from death
And preserve them all alive in spite of famine.

3. Our soul waits for the Lord,
Who is our help and our shield.
May Your kindness, be upon us O Lord,
As we place all our hope only in You.
