Psalm 8:2ab and 5, 6-7, 8-9 ‘O Lord, our God, how wonderful’ is a psalm of admiration. God is divinity par excellence, and man though is mortal and feeble, is ordained with the image and likeness of Him for which the psalm is an invitation to admire and praise. It can also be sung on the First Tuesday of the ordinary time

R/- O Lord, our God, how wonderful Your name in all the earth!

1. O Lord, our Lord, how glorious is Your name over all the earth!
What is man that You should be mindful of him,
Or the mortal man that You should care for him?

2. You've made him little less than the angels above,
And crowned him with glory and honour.
Given him rule over the works of Your hands,
You have put all things under his feet.

3. All sheep and oxen, and beasts of the field, that walk upon the earth
Birds of air, and the fishes of sea,
All that make their way through the waters.
