Why does Luke include these two accounts of miraculous healing? After all, he has already made it clear that the apostles and others worked miracles and it always resulted in more people coming to faith in Jesus Christ. This is the first time we hear that an apostle raises someone from the dead - that’s a big deal! Yes, indeed God is all-powerful. Yes, miracles were used and continue to be used to authenticate the power of God and bring people to salvation in Jesus Christ. And yes, God is still in the business of miracles today! But the details of this story tell us more than what we’ve already learned.
