4. You were strangers. (2:12)
5. You were without hope. (2:12)
6. You were without God. (2:12)

II. Rejoice in the effects of our union with Christ. (2: 13-18)
1. In Christ we have peace. (2:13-16)
2. Through Christ we have access. (2:17-18)
