Americans and their stuff! The storage industry, which barely existed 25 years ago, is now larger than the music industry in our country. Worldwide there are 52,000 storage facilities—46,000 of those are in the United States. We love our stuff. Apparently we like storing our stuff, too. Jesus said, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:19-21 ESV). When it comes to your time, talents and treasure, are you a hoarder or a giver?
