Many of us believe our purpose in life is to be happy. However happiness breeds quitters because when things get hard and doesn't make us happy anymore, we stop and look for other easy sources of happiness.

Jesus died on the cross for us. Was he happy about that? No. Then why did He do it? Jesus loved us. Conversely, love is hard to do and doesn't breed happiness.
