This song ended up being our (First Christian Reformed Church, Ripon) theme verse for our Thanksgiving Day service in 2020. I wrote this song as part of a song writing collective put on by Resound Worship based in the UK. Their theme for the month of November was "Songs of Thankfulness" and this worked out perfectly, giving me the opportunity to plan our service around the verse. This verse also provided the liturgy for our service where we had specific times to "rejoice," "pray" and "give thanks." Giving thanks in all circumstances proved to be a very much needed thing in the midst of 2020. Regardless of the many crazy things that have happened this year, our God remains sovereign and in control of it all! He is good and worthy to be thanked for all his many blessings given to us in Christ.
