The phrase “I am the alpha and the omega” (Koiné Greek: "ἐγὼ τὸ Α καὶ τὸ Ω"), is found in these verses in the Book of Revelation:
1) Revelation 1:8 “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”
2) Revelation 1:10-13 “10 I … heard behind me a great voice … 11 saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last … 12 And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me … 13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man.
3) Revelation 21:6 “It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.”
4) 12-Rev.22.13" class="scriptRef">Revelation 22:12-13 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me ... 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
WHO IS THIS SPEAKING? One may think that it is GOD the Father, but in Revelation chapter 1 verse 13, it is “the son of man”. In Matthew 18:11 we read, “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.” - Here it is clear that the Lord Jesus uses this phrase to refer to himself. The Lord Jesus is therefore “the alpha and the omega”.
