Many are trying to understand how the current pandemic crisis fits into the events of the latter days. Last week, I spoke on, “Is This a Sign of the Times” from Luke 21. In that chapter and Matthew 24, the disciples asked Jesus this question, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Jesus then gave the signs of the times; conditions on the earth that will appear like birth pains as the time of the end draws near. “Be on the alert,” Jesus said, “keep watch; be ready.” I want to speak on that next week.

The times are changing before our eyes. The world has entered a time of crisis not only from this pandemic but also an economic crisis, the depths of which have yet to be revealed.
I believe all of these things are setting the stage for the events of the latter days. These are times to be especially watchful.

Some have wondered if the current Covid-19 virus could possibly be one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse mentioned in Revelation 6. This is a good question and important to understand. Therefore, I have decided to teach this message on the Four Horsemen of the apocalypse. If we are going to discern the events of the latter days, we need a deeper understanding of what will take place.

In the chapters leading up to Revelation 6, John was in the Spirit and was given a vision of heaven. There he saw in his vision a sea of glass like crystal. In the center was One sitting on a throne. Around the great throne were 24 lesser thrones on which 24 elders were sitting; clothed in white and with golden crowns on their heads.

In the right hand of Him who sat on the great throne was a book, or a scroll, written inside and on the back. It was sealed with seven seals. John heard a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book and break it seals?”

No one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it. At this, John began to weep greatly, but one of the elders said to him, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion from the tribe of Judah has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.”

But when John looked, he saw between the throne and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain; and He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. When He took hold of the book, the four living creatures and the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb and worshiped, singing a new song.

In chapter 6, the Lamb breaks the seals of the scroll. With the breaking of each seal, events of the latter days unfold.

Today, we are currently in a period of time which could be called the “birth pangs” which lead up to prophetic fulfillment. Jesus said in Matthew 24:6-8, “You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places, there will be famines and earthquakes. In Luke 21 he adds plagues, or in other words pestilence, and great signs from heaven. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.”

The ‘birth pangs’ will increase until the Lamb opens the seven seals which seal the scroll. Each of the seals sets forth powerful events of the last days, beginning with what has been famously called, “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.” And when you look at what is happening in the world today, you can almost put your ear to the ground and hear their hoofbeats drawing near.

 This is the Antichrist. He is not revealed until the Lamb breaks the first seal of the book. He is held back until this seal is opened.

I. The White Horse – The Antichrist

 In Revelation 19, Jesus is portrayed as coming in power and riding on a great white horse, but in Revelation 6, this is not that white horse and Jesus is not the one riding on it.
