REVELATION 9.1-21 “Fifth & Sixth Trumpets”
-7th Seal / 4 of 7 Trumpets (Earth impacted)
-“Woe, woe, woe…”

FIFTH TRUMPET (Rev 9.1-12)
Verse 1) -Fifth trumpet sounds

-Star falls / Angel that is given a key
-*Pope? / Satan? (Is 14.12-14; Luke 10.18)
-*Authority. Good angel / Jesus has keys to death and hades

-Bottomless pit / Abyss
-*Hell? / Prison for demons (2 Peter 2.4)
-Demons begged not to be sent to Abyss (Luke 8.31)

Verse 2) -*Smoke / Furnace. Volcano? / Figurative?
-Spiritual darkness invades earth

-*Hell inside earth?
-Earth will be destroyed / Spiritual realm

Verse 3) -Locusts (Ex 10.12-15) / Day of the Lord (Joel 2.1-10)
-Swarm of destruction

-Not normal locusts / Sting like scorpions

Verse 4) -Locusts = Devastation
-Not normal / Not eating the green

-Christians are present during Tribulation / Protected

Verse 5) -Locusts harm the lost
-*Physical? / Spiritual? / Both?

-Tormented 5 months (life cycle of locusts)

Verse 6) -No relief from torment / Seek death / Not find it
-*Supernatural? / No suicide? / Not easy?

Verse 7) -Like / As. Indescribable
-Horses (swift) / Crown (authority) / Man (rational)

Verse 8) -Women’s hair (alluring) / Bristles

-Teeth like lion (powerful / fierce)

Verse 9) -Breastplates (battle / hard to kill)

-Loud (sound of chariots)

Verse 10) -Sting from tails / Not normal locusts

Verse 11) -Commander of demon horde
-Hierarchy of demons

-*Satan? / Antichrist? / Angel of death? / Figurative?
-Abaddon (Hebrew) / Apollyon (Greek). “Destroyer”

Verse 12) -First woe (5th trumpet) past

SIXTH TRUMPET (Rev 9.13-21)
Verse 13) -Sixth trumpet sounds

-Voice from altar / Response to martyrs?

Verse 14) -Release 4 angels (demons) from Euphrates
-Assyrian King. Floodwaters of Euphrates (Is 8.7-8)
-Invaders from the North (Jer 1.14-15)

-*4 winds (previously restrained)? / 4 horsemen?
-Bound demons / God controls judgement

Verse 15) -Torture (5th trumpet) / Escalates / Death (6th trumpet)
-Prepared / Waited / To kill 1/3 of mankind

Verse 16) -Army of 200,000,000 (1,000 X Roman army)
-*Demons? / Possessed? / Regular people?
-Instruments of death

Verse 17) -Maybe demons / Description similar to locusts
-Breastplates (battle / hard to kill)

-From horses’ mouth. Smoke / Fire / Brimstone
-*Judgement / Guns?

Verse 18) -Fire / Smoke / Brimstone. 3 plagues

Verse 19) -Power / Mouth / Tail (like serpent)

Verse 20) -“Rest of mankind” / Unmarked / Refuse to repent
-Sad state of lost / Hard hearts (like Pharaoh)
-Angry / Weeping and gnashing of teeth

-Repent? / Idol worship / Demon worship

Verse 21) -Murder. Intentional / Abortion / Euthanasia / Hate

-Sorcery. Occult (witchcraft) / “Pharmacy” (drug abuse)

-Sexual immorality. Sex outside marriage / Homosexuality / Bestiality / Rape / Pedophilia / Pornography

-Thefts. Lawless / Smash and grab

-Lost do not care what God wants
-Remain in rebellion / Refuse to repent / Punished
-Remember / We deserve wrath / Saved from wrath through Jesus
