There is only one Foundation that the church is to be built upon - the Rock, the Lord Jesus Christ. Not only is the Lord the chief corner stone, He is also a "stone of stumbling and a rock of offense". In order to be saved, the elect sinner must trip over the "stone of stumbling" and be broken. Such a breaking is necessary in order that the "world's/carnal peace" will be shattered. Those that are not broken in true evangelical repentance will one day have this Rock fall upon them in final/eternal judgment. Preaching Pastor Tom Newton, evening service of Sept.6, 2015.
