In this passage Paul strengthens his point that salvation through faith has always been God’s plan. He contrasts passages from Scripture to show that works righteousness is not possible. Both passages are from Deuteronomy. By applying Moses’ words from Deuteronomy 30:14 to the principle of faith in Jesus, Paul goes onto to argue that whoever calls upon the name of the Lord in faith will be saved.
