Boldly we approach the eternal throne with prayers of confession
Silent or shared time of confession

Assurance of Forgiveness: Romans 6:6-7
For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

Statement of Belief: Ephesians 2:4-8
We believe that because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace we have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace we have been saved, through faith—and this is not from ourselves, it is the gift of God!

Message

Prayers of God’s People: Lift up your prayers and petitions then end with the following prayer of commitment.

Prayer of Commitment: from Hebrews 12, Colossians 3 and Micah 6
God, you have shown us what is good. And what the you requires of us: To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God.
Since, then, we have been raised with Christ, we want to set our hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. We desire to set our minds on things above, not on earthly things. For Christ died, and our life is now hidden with Christ in God. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved we want, with God’s help, to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. We know we should bear with each other and forgive one another. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds us all together in perfect unity. And whatever we do, whether in word or deed, may we do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. It is in Jesus name we pray. Amen
