What happened to that fire we had when we first believed? When we were young, we were willing to take risks, to do something radical for Jesus. But somewhere along the way, we started thinking more about comfort than calling. We tell ourselves, “I can’t, I’ve got responsibilities now,” and we settle into this pattern of safety. And yet, Scripture never called us to a safe life. It called us to a life of faith, a life of trust in the God who holds everything in His hands.

If anything, the older we get, the more we’ve seen God’s faithfulness. That should push us to trust Him even more, not retreat into safety. What if instead of slowing down, we ran harder after Him, modeling for our children what radical faith looks like? What if the legacy we left wasn’t one of fear, but of obedience—where our families saw us go wherever He calls, no matter the cost?
