The apostle Peter applies at least two Jehovah passages (Isaiah 8:13, 14) to Jesus in his first epistle. Sanctify the Lord YHWH (Isa. 8:13) and sanctify the Lord Christ (1Pe. 3:15). He even uses the same forms for 'Lord' (kurion) and 'sanctify' (hagiasate) from the LXX. But it gets better. Watch video to see the evidence for yourself!

Note what the ESV says...

1 Peter 3:15a: but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy...

Isaiah 8:13a: But the LORD of hosts, him you shall honor as holy...

Very similar language here from both verses in the ESV. The LXX renders YHWH as kurion, Lord and Peter applies kurion to Christ.

The KJV says 'Lord God' instead of 'Christ' because it was following inferior manuscripts. The earliest, most reliable manuscripts have 'Christ' and the vast majority of English translations follow that. Even the New World Translation does.
