In this life we will have experiences of greatest distress. Though calamity at times happens to good people, it is usually caused by bad decisions, these experiences of distress are usually caused by moments of rebellion in our lives. At times people have the tendency to make bad decisions despite how good God has been. In these moments of making wrong choices is when the Lord imposes consequences on us. Proverbs 3:11-12 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline, and do not despise his rebuke, because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. When the Lord's disciple happens is usually when we turn to God and cry out to the Lord. However, even in those moments people remain prideful and continue to reject His discipline as the situation gets worse. In God’s sovereign wisdom, He disciplines us to humble us to repentance. God loves us too much to just let us fall away. This is why He doesn’t allow us to do whatever we want. What would happen to us if the Lord never disciplined us and allowed us to do whatever we felt like it? We would simply be lost for eternity. It is in those moments we should cry out to the Lord! In fact we should always cry out to the Lord. We should never wait for things to get worse before we cry out to the Lord. In God’s unfailing love, He will always rescue us. God is always ready to release His liberating power is we simply out to Him! In crying out to the Lord, giving thanks to Him is and will always be a key component to God’s Kingdom! Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness, prisoners suffering in iron chains, because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the plans of the Most High. So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron. AMEN!
