Although we are often encouraged to take life by the horns and do all that we can to succeed, Paul makes it known to us that the call of the Christian is to lay-down our pride, push-off our selfishness and even recognize other people as more significant than ourselves. Paul has an end in mind: A Unity that is rooted in the love of Jesus for humanity, the One who made Himself nothing so that we might be called the People of God. So, we think through what this striving for unity involves – not just hoping that things change around us, but speaking the truth of Jesus into a world that’s crying-out for hope.
