This morning we are going to take a look at Acts 1:1-14. The key verse of Acts is found in v.8 and the big theme of the Book of Acts is the Holy Spirit who empowers, leads, and directs the speech of the followers of Jesus as they take the message of Jesus and the way of salvation from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. A big takeaway for us as Christians is this-- We need to be Spirit directed and Spirit empowered. We cannot live out the Christian life unless we depend upon the Holy Spirit who is God.
