Good MORNING friend!
I loved the beautiful weather this past weekend! The blue skies, bright sun, and beautiful scenery reminds me to be thankful for the day I've been given.
Today's story is such a strange one, my friends. Do you know the story of Jesus getting baptized by John? We normally baptize people who come to believe and accept Jesus Christ as the one, true God. Baptism is a way of showing that the person being baptized is being made clean by the power of the Holy Spirit.
But JESUS is already perfect and full of the Holy Spirit. He doesn't need to be baptized! In fact, HE should be the one baptizing other people! Yet today, when John the Baptist was baptizing people, Jesus asked John if he could also be baptized as well.
How can this be? My friend, do you realize how very strange this whole thing is? BUT, Jesus had a reason for his decision. It wasn't because he needed to be cleansed, but because it was to obey his Heavenly Father and fulfill a prophecy about a Savior who would take one the sins of all people and cleanse all who call on his Name.
Jesus is the perfect Savior who came to make you and I new.
I pray that today we would live like we are made new in Jesus, and worship Him will all gladness and joy!!!
