On a different note, have you noticed how much RAIN there has been the past week??? I thought it was going to be a super sunny June, but so far it has been raining cats and dogs (that just means it's been raining A LOT)!!
And I don't know about you guys, but when there's a LOT of rain, my mood get's kind of wonky, and I usually feel tired or grumpy. Do you feel that way too with rain? Sometimes I think, why can't EVERY DAY be a sunny, warm, and happy day?
Now I want you to think about something: in our lives, we go through different kind of "weathers" too. Maybe one day is a REALLY GOOD day (like a sunny day), but the next day is a really bad day (like rainy and thunderstormy). Why doesn't Jesus take away all of our bad, stormy days and leave us with just the good days? Why does Jesus let bad days happen?
Jumping back to rainy days, friend, you know that rain is VERY important for plants and trees, right? Without it, we wouldn't be able to live as we do now. If we always had sunny days, what would happen to our trees and flowers? Even though rain can be gloomy sometimes, it plays an important part of our world. And I firmly believe that the bad and hard days in our lives ALSO play an important role in helping us FOLLOW Jesus, and learn to love Him more (because He is the way to Life!). And today's message encourages us by telling us that Jesus promises to turn our sadness into JOY.
We live in a broken, confusing, and imperfect world. There will DEFINITELY be days where we feel sad, lost, hurt, and more. But let us learn today that even in those moments, Jesus has the power to turn that into good. We will not always understand why things happen, but we can have confidence that Jesus will always be for us as we live through our different weathers of life.
