Sonship means coming of age - from a slave to a friend, from a minor to an adult. "Before faith came" Israel was a minor, under the schoolmaster, waiting for the Messiah to come. Now that "faith has come", the Old Covenant is laid aside for the administration of Grace. Those that are believers are now Sons of God, and children of God - adult worshipers. As adult worshipers, as believer priests, we, now are indwelt with God Holy Spirit - the Spirit of adoption, and live under the administration of Grace.
