When Jesus told His disciples that He was going to suffer and die, Peter rebuked Him. "Never, Lord!" he said. But our ideas are never better than God's! Jesus knew that the way to life was the way of the cross. We don't like that so much. But when we lay down our own desires and surrender to God's will, He will give us the victory and life we so deeply long for.
