Paul is spelling out in detail a number of changes that Christians must make as a result of the new birth. Because we have put off the Old Man and have put on the New Man at salvation, we are to live in a different way then the unbelievers around us. Specifically, this includes putting away the lie and speaking the truth with each other (4:25); we are to control our anger and not sin. And in our text for today Paul tells believers to stop stealing. Stealing goes hand in hand with lying, because thieves need to lie and deceive in order not to get caught.
