JOHN CHAPTER 18:

Verse 1… After Jesus prays, he goes with his disciples over the brook Cedron where there was a garden.
2nd Chronicles 30:13-14…
The brook Kidron flows through a valley associated with graves and the ashes of abominations, but it was prophesied that it should be "holy unto Yahweh" (Jeremiah 31:40). Twice it is mentioned simply as "the valley," nachal (2 Chronicles 33:14; Nehemiah 2:15). It is on the way to the mount of Olives.  Very different from these earlier scenes is the last Scriptural reference (John 18:1), when Jesus "went forth with his disciples over the brook Kidron" for His last hours of spiritual struggle and prayer before the turmoil of the end.

Verse 2… During His ministry on earth, Jesus went to this garden often with His disciples.
Luke 21:37… Luke 22:39…

Verse 3… Judas Isacriot came to that garden with a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees.
Matthew 26:46-50… Mark 14:42-46… Luke 22:46-48…

Verses 4-8… Jesus asks the band of men whom they are seeking.  Then He tells them He is “I AM”, and they fall backward.
Exodus 3:1-15… Psalm 62:11… Hebrews 10:31…

Verse 9… Jesus had asked the band of men to let his disciples go their way, fulfilling His prayer in John 17.
John 17:11-12… John 10:27-30… Romans 8:38-39…
