Question:
John 16:8-9 says that the Holy Spirit convicts the world about sin (unveiled in Christ Jesus) and convinces believers that they are righteous. Does that mean that, when believers feel like they're sinners, they're believing a lie because they're not remembering that all their sins have been forgiven through the blood of Christ Jesus?

Answer:
Yes, God has certainly covered our sins that we committed before salvation. We as believers should have faith that he has covered those sins and claim his promises. Refer to 1 John 1:9 and Romans 6.
